Everyone Please Help!
The goal of the "10,000 Flyers" marketing campaign is to get 10,000 flyers printed out and hung up by the community before the end of July. We need everyone's help!
How it Works
We ran a contest to collect a bunch of flyer designs that people in the community could print out and hang up in their local areas - coffee shops, book stores, college campuses, etc. The flyers are done, and the winners are chosen (details below). Now, it is up to the community to print out their favorite ones and hang them up in their local area!
The Goal - 10,000 Flyers by the end of July!
This seems like a lot, but if enough people from the community chip in and do a small part - we can do it. My suggestion is for each person to hang up 5-10 flyers in their local area. Less is fine, and more is better! We can do this =)
Instructions
- Browse the designs below and chose your favorite one(s).
- Reply in the comments with the number of flyers you will be hanging up.
Optional - include where you are from / where you will be hanging them up (book store, coffee shop, etc.) - Copy/paste the image(s) into a Word document, or something that lets you print them on a full sheet of paper.
(Adjust the size so they fill up the page.) - Print off copies.
- Go to areas where potential Steemains may be hanging out, and hang up the flyers.
- Report back once you have hung up the flyers.
- Repeat.
Just kidding, although you are welcome to do more =)
Some Tips
- You can print them in color or black and white - whichever you prefer.
- Use high reflectivity paper if possible.
- Most browsers let you "copy" the image from the post by right clicking on it.
- You don't have to print a whole page - you can make smaller flyers too.
- If you don't have a printer, you can bring them in to your local print shop (Kinkos, etc.); Usually color prints are less than $1, and B&W are around 10 cents.
- Spread the word and try to get as many people as you can to help.

There are a bunch of image files in the post. The idea is to pick one that you like, print it on a piece of paper, and hang it up in your area for people to see. Somewhere like a coffee shop or book store, where they let people hang up flyers.

But if you are sending money around for that it would be good because I always showed what I did and it's easy, a quick pic. You are the captain though. It would be a perfect topic to post about and make income storcogato but please post a pic. Not because you have to, but because it's nice.
People are not getting paid to hang up the flyers. The money that was paid out was to the artists that designed the flyers. Everyone who is hanging up flyers is doing so on a volunteer basis, and will likely end up spending a small amount of money themselves to print the flyers.
I am excited to see how many people will do it. i feel that it's not gonna be very successful but hope for the opposite. I think it would be good to pay people money. In my flyer posts I show how much I paid, how many I made and how many hours I worked (I was explaining the stuff f2f which is much more work than hanging up). With your popularity you could do it or not? Say that the people should do it like my example and let them make a pic of every hung up flyer. Then pay 1 SBD (example) per hung up flier and boom we can conquer the whole world in a storm!?!
I thought a lot about it and decided not to do that. It opens the door for people saying they did stuff when they didn't. I'd rather just stick with people doing it because it helps the community. We all win + earn when the community grows and price of STEEM goes up.
I don't see a problem once the people make a pic each time. It could be very interesting. Of course you should limit the amount per day. Everyone has 1 week to put up 5 flyers max. and has to post proof in the comments. The ones who did it will get 1 SBD per flyer. You make 500 with a post and that would be 500 flyers. Half the money for you - 250 flyers week. Worldwide ! Big impact!
By making people take a picture, it adds work, which can actually decrease participation. I appreciate the advice, but I did think this through and I do stand by my decision because I feel it is the best way to accomplish my goal of maximizing participation. It really isn't something I want to 'debate'. The goal is not to bribe people into hanging up flyers. It is to organize an effort and help facilitate the framework for the community to come together and work together to improve our outreach.

I've mostly been working in people's houses lately, so not too many. 5 around West Chester, PA. And I handed one to an interested cashier in Kennett square, Pa just today.

I made it when there was not such a influx of people coming to steemit.
However you are not correct. You can make a account without an email and personal information and have it added to the blockchain instantly without any waiting. ;)
I know, but the flyer is for the average person and you pointed to steemit I think (cannot see it anymore). I was not correct but in no way you can expect anyone lol my english sorry, to figure that out how that works with anonymous accounts. peace.

I would suggest making a crowsourced map location of were the flyers have been hungout so people dont duplicate efforts and more people can be reached out
Also , raising some steam tokens to pay some people to cover wide areas or areas with intense foot traffic maybe a good idea , there is only so much a volunteer can do
A little bit of overlap in the same area is fine. It is fairly unlikely that people will end up hitting the exact same locations. As far as the STEEM tokens to cover the cost, I thought about it but it would be too hard to manage effectively. I'm hoping that most users can afford a dollar of B&W prints if money is an issue. The idea behind the campaign was that it would be low cost, so most people could participate.
Well , but maybe donations or the post rewards could be spared to people doing significant effort covering their cities or areas
I was also thinking maybe teams could be made with people of the same places
I thought quite a bit about it, and decided not to. It becomes very challenging and it opens up the door for a lot of other issues (people scaming, etc.) I figure it is best to leave it a volunteer effort. We all earn when the community grows and the price of STEEM goes up - so I'm hoping people will want to do it just for the sake of helping out.

this is a good idea... I might change the sizing on one of these and turn it into a handbill..... on a typical night, a flapper hands out like 200 per hour on the strip... and they work dirt cheap.

I have set 3 at my work. I know it's not much but I don't wanna spam it. Plus I have set those on key points everyone is used to check for news daily, and I am keeping some spare in case I find some other places to set them. I have also decided not to include my user on it, but I have taken a picture of myself as proof and posted it. I am curious how many will be able to find me. Nice stuff Tim!

I have used a new technique, but I confess my words might not have been the best ones. Anyway, I figured that people could actually take the flyers with them, and decided to hang them so anyone can take one away if they want to. So, if that count's, I have hanged extra 5! =)

I will do my bit, will be sharing among the college near by our place, I believe that's the best audience we can target reaching out to. Will be printing 60 copies of the design as below. Well i believe I would make it more exciting by asking everyone to take pic of it and share it on their whats app groups.

@timcliff: the flyers were distributed among the students. 60 on the whole as said before.
The word of mouth was more productive as it went out well among more students and even the lecturers showed interest. Be assured you will see more students and teachers signing up on steemit, more from our place: Hyderabad, India.

I can post 1000 flyers every week in various places I visit but the problem is that I don't have a printer and thus I only promote it on social media and wherever I go I tell people to join this platform... Even my nephew @littleangle is a part of this community and many more :) I don't know how to help with flyers as I don't have much earnings to spend on advertising the community. I am from India and I appreciate your efforts and contribution :)
Great idea and great execution by everyone involved. I know quite a few public bulletin boards that I used to do marketing with so I am going to go post them there. I like @eirik 's design the best so I will be use that one!

Could someone design a sticker sized format? Approximately 1x4 inches. Im not sure about other places but where I am in the UK, people seem to like to feel they've discovered something, rather than shown it.I also feel no one I know would read any kind of notice board. Just a very basic sticker with the logo and something along the lines of "steemit, get paid to Facebook!". You could stick them to hand-driers in cinemas, restaurant, bars, pubs and clubs (anyone who doesn't wash their hands, you don't want on Steemit anyway). Most of these type places have paid advertisement boards so you can't just put you own A4 flyer up. This could give a good second option. Would make a good bumper sticker too.
Just a thought.

That's a great suggestion. At this point the content part for the designers to create all the flyers is done, but anyone in the community is welcome to do it. Some of the existing designs may be able to be printed smaller too. Thanks for helping!

I printed these three posters and pinned these charts on my university's notice boards. People noticed it, found it very interesting and reacted to adapt it.Although I faced a lot of questions which took hours of mine, but I happily explained each and every perspective of Steemit!

I should mention to anyone deciding for using their own printer at home to keep an eye on how many sheets you make with solid colors, a full size sheet on my flyer can drain your ink a lot so make it count and put it somewhere with a lot of people :)
for spamming out tons of them, shoot for some of the good white background versions, or use a bulk printing service.

Now thats a great post for you. Im in jamaica and im in the private sector and ill definately print 10-20 plus I've already told close to 30 people about steemit already. This is indeed the future of socail media. It is indeed a great idea for building posters. Anything to make steemit on the demand

This a great marketing campaign idea. The flyers are attractive and creative as well. The loved the slogan, Write , Post, Earn
Simple but reflect the spirit of Steemit.
Here in Croatia some people don't understand English, will help with English 1 but is it possible to do text in Croatian also?
That way probably more people will understand and ask for help someone else.

Hi. I wasn't able to check if flyers were actually put up. What I did was sent ato few people flyers and some info about it. They're really far from me. Some were owners of cafes and other businesses that's why I sent it to them. I've sent this to 7 people who could put them in their business' place. I've also sent this flyer to people via pm, about 50 people. And posted it in my Facebook (3k friends). It misses the point of having actual flyers put up but it still shared Steemit.com to other people. Sorry about that. I haven't got access to a printer recently.

I am mooooooore than happy to print and distribute steemit flyers on an ongoing basis... but... i am also a designer, and without sounding conceited, would rather design my own as i know i can produce something far better than all three winners... This was one of the first things I wanted to do when I got on steemit and immediately loved it. I'm glad this is going out, I'm going to contact some of the places near me (large university/center of the city I live in at popular cafes) and see if I can post some around!

@timcliff, this is a cool idea. I am a street photographer who travels in random areas and would love to help out. Is is ok though if I alter the flyers and add my blog link like this one? If it is ok, can I add my links in all flyers that I wanted to use? I would love to contribute at least 100 flyers, I am from the Philippines.
My preference would be for you to keep personal references out of it, but I won't stop you from doing it.
You should contact the designer of that image and make sure they are OK with it. Everyone who submitted them did it under the terms of the contest, so I don't know if they are OK with allowing alterations. If they are OK with it, then I won't object.

Hi Tim, just managed to post 25 posters in our public market place when I went to the province..didn't had a chance to take photos of it because there was rain that time and didn't bring the camera... I'm back in the metro again and will try to add more in the next few days..We also just had a storm here, so hopefully no more storm.

Well, you can always hang up flyers, but to be counted towards the goal of 10,000 they need to be done by the end of July.

SO I am going to print out 1,000! and place them in every starbucks! And the only Bitcoin ATM in our county! Which is pretty Huge but only one ATM and its in my City, go figure!

I live in Taiwan and putting up the flyers isn't realistic here, but I just posted one of the flyers on a website aimed at expats here. I'll be interested to see if it gets removed.

Hi @timcliff 😀 I'm from Philippines working in Cebu City. I am going home to Leyte this weekend to check my family after the 6.5 intensity earthquake happened last July 6, 2017. No power supply yet. I think it will takes month for power supply restoration.
I will give hope to my family, relatives, friends and other people by sharing about Steemit. I will do the

Hi @timcliff 😀 I am proud to say that I printed 40 flyers only, that's only the budget I can afford. I hung up 8 flyers only and give 20 flyers. Unfortunately, some were damaged because I washed my bag without checking some flyers inside. But, I continued sharing Steemit with friends and on facebook. 😀 Hope I contributed to the project even just a little. 😀 Thank you so much. 😀 Have a great day! 😀

I'll make copies of those many images and paste on to notice boards of each departments 🏬 in my school Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) Ondo State, here in Nigeria 🇳🇬, I'll distribute among students, post it at the students sports complex. This is awesome and I will for sure hang some up! One thing - we need local language flyers and I know @oendertuerk did some design work on this in various languages already, at least German, Turkish and English - hoe he sees that and can add designs.
Not sure how I missed this post yesterday. Anyways, if you need a place to make you some fliers check these guys out. I am sure they are not the cheapest place to get fliers made, but I have been using them for my fliers for the last 7-8 years.

They are easy to work with, and they have some great designs. They focus on church fliers mostly, but they do a great job. They have a quick turn around time as well. (3 days) most of the time.

Great idea. I think along with generating forums locally would bring tremendous benefit to this community. I am very new to the platform but I have seen a couple of projects that are very interesting. The potential is there. ARE WE PART OF THE CHANGE OR NOT?
I think everyone here at this point can be considered an early adopter :) Some are earlier than others, but compared to where I hope we will be here in a year or two - we are just getting started :)

I made a comment in another post that I would design a flier tomorrow... But then I took my cellphone appart to do some other things and a better idea came to my head.. Why not making an entire campaign? :D
The entire campaign can include both digital and printed designs. Example for digital: facebook cover, fb profile, fb post, whatsapp image, animated gif; for printed: poster, flier, business card(if you want to introduce yourself as a steemian).
If you have more ideas please let me know. :)
