I am the creator of the YouTube channel GilstrapTV and I am going to be taking a big leap of faith and come over to DTube. Me and @brianphobos are building a community channel for @pranks and we see a lot of potential on this platform!

Yep, it was pretty difficult not to watch. Seriously, I watched a dude farting near people for like 45 minutes, good social science actually as you get to experience a broad range of responses.

I just looked at the web page again for the first time in awhile. It looks like the presale is starting on the 20th. The only other thing I know about it is that @furion is one of the main developers and he is a boss.
Good point. Well @Dtube has actually a working product so yeah... why bother I'd say, I keep thinking the whole aspect is about UX and proper rewarding, good reputation schemes and anti-spam. Not even Steem has got that right.

Viewly had a sample product for awhile because I used it. I don't even know what happened with that.
I think having two potential options could be good for sure though and as content creators if we can get rewarded by both platforms then it is another place to earn and then see who comes up with the best solution or they feed off each others successes. I feel like Snapchat and Instagram have been able to learn from each other in a lot of ways

DTube is the future! Fuck YouTube for their censorship, shitty payout and promoting their starboy Logan Paul. I'm glad to see so many youtubers take the leap of faith like you did, welcome to the Steemit family friend!!
DTube is the future and I am glad I found it! The censorship on YouTube is so aggravating!! The payouts are so terrible on YouTube, I can talk about that in another upcoming video too. I can go in depth on the analytics of my video that hit 13 million views on YouTube just to show how bad it is.

I'm still pretty skeptical about it myself. I've found relative success on Youtube with my game taking off there and I only have around 3K subs. I'm really struggling on these sites though. Not sure why but I'm hoping it will change for me, especially since you'd think the interactions would be more frequent here. I'm all for positivity for a new platform, but I see my stuff getting buried pretty quickly. Maybe it's just not right for my medium (game design) but most of my posts that are about steemit or Youtube gain more upvotes (which isn't much) than the posts with actual game content (which I think are much more interesting).
I can’t wait till all the youtubers choose to move to Dtube
