Today, I want to share my personal experience about how that one person who has supported me during one of the hardest times in my life, it's none other than my best friend Othoi.

So, last year was very challenging for me. I was facing academic pressure as it was our test exams. There were assignments that I could not complete and the time was very short. On the other hand, I was dealing with my family problems and this made me worry about my future. I was not feeling good at all everything made me feel exhausted easily. I was disturbed both mentally and emotionally.

I have anxiety, so dealing with it became harder, even the medicines were not working. I started to feel like a failure and thought my knowledge is less than others and I'm only moving downwards. The more I compared myself, the worse I felt. I had zero motivation and couldn't concentrate on my studies.

During that period, Othoi was always there for me. She never neglected me, she took my problems seriously. I could tell because I can easily detect when someone is being genuine and when they're faking it. Whenever I felt lonely she was there for me. I would call her during midnights but she never complained because knew that I was going through a hard phase. As I'm only talktive around the people I'm comfortable with. She never let me feel that she was annoyed and gave me her company.

She constantly assured me that everything will get better and I'll find peace. She never judged me for my different perspective instead she listened to me quietly. I was able to vent out my anger and pain. I must say she was a good listener. Othoi always gave me a reminder that everyone faces challenges and that it was okay to feel overwhelmed sometimes.

She motivated me to stay focused on my goals and that helped me a lot. She used to say，”I believe in you. You can do it." So if I ever felt like giving up she would not let me. It felt like she saw my capabilities which others couldn't see. She made me feel good about myself. It really felt good to have someone around who really appreciated my struggles and that made a huge difference in my life.

I was a person who had zero confidence but her emotional support made me realize my worth. She believed in me when I could not believe in myself. I would wish that everyone finds a best friend like Othoi in their life.

Now, I know the true value of friendship. People who stay with you during your difficult times they are your true friends. I am grateful for my friend’s support. I have learned kindness from her and I admire her personality a lot. The most amazing part is that I did not feel alone anymore, and that meant everything to me.
