April Fools challenge 2026 | Day 2

This morning i had this great idea , bring the wife to work and capture the sunrise, sounds easy enough to do.

At the moment i'm participating in a photo challenge on Dyxum.com , a forum for Sony / Minolta photographers, that i joined back in 2009 after i purchased my first Sony DSLR the Sony A700 , i still have the camera but i never use it anymore.

It's a great forum for info about Sony / minolta cameras and all A-mount and E-mount lenses .

Maybe one day my grand daughter can start her photographic experience with it, but until then i will keep it safe .

Back to my photography of this morning , the plan was to capture the sunrise at the old steam mill near Nijkerk here in Holland.

once i arrived i did notice a red glow at the horizon , and that s all i got to see due to loads of heavy rain clouds....

1 )And as you can see no orange ball at the horizon only a small orange line right of the center , the rest were all rain clouds.

2 ) slightly edited to get more drama in the sky

3 ) And then it started to rain so , of i went back home again.
I will be back to this area one day with my 500mm lens to capture all the water birds here, and maybe even a sunrise or sunset.

4 ) So this afternoon when i went to pick up the wife again from work i brought the camera with me again hoping i would get some better weather .
But no , still raining and no sunshine , so i did have to use my flash light to light up these flowers.
