Long slow run Sunday

I just finished a 29.867km running that lasted about 3hh:0mm:38ss !

I’ve got a cross country marathon at the end of this month so i’ve been putting in some muddy miles at the weekend. This Sunday it was particularly grotty as we have had a lot of rain this past week and the fields have recently been ploughed. The original run plan was 20 miles but by the end we were walking due to the amount of mud stuck to our shoes so we had to knock off 1-2 miles to cut off the last few fields in favour for the road.
My friend who came with me is also in training for a 65km ultra marathon so I was using the long run to prompt him when to eat. Nothing but liquids for the first hour and then at least 100 calories every 30 mins there after. Running is easy, forcing yourself to eat when you’re running is hard!
Anyway this was a blustery 30k run around the fields of Vale of Belvoir with lots of pauses for stiles, gates, eating and muddy puddles :)

A bit muddy and windy here too. I've not really run far enough to need refreshments, so I guess that is something you have to learn about. Good luck with the events.
