Weekly ish Running Update...progress with that aerobic base!

Three short but classic runs last week, showing some progress I think!

20th April - 6K easy...

Just a nice easy 6.20 minute paced run, note the low heart rate, I think this is something of a break through!

20th April - slighly lazy 800M intervals

I headeded to the track and wasn't feeling in the mood for 400s so I bashed out some 800s instead...

So that's one warm up and then 4 proper 800s at a decent pace.

Paces as below...

I am reasonably happy with that as a bar, I was a bit tired, but was still up for a few 200s but had a 5 minute stop and chat with a runner friend and that just cooled me right down so I called it a day easy!

24th April - 6K easy...

Pretty much a rinse and repeat of the previous slow run, almost exact HR, this is my new base heart rate run, lower I think than in previous weeks.

Final thoughts...

This is my new basic running pattern - a classic easy, hard, easy - Monday, Weds, Friday in this case.

I am quite happy with this...

Looks like you totally nailed it! and those 800 metre split times at 4:05 pace would have you very close to a 20 minute parkrun on a good day.

I'm aiming for a similar heart rate on easy runs, but at a slower pace. Hope it goes well for you.
