🦉 The Eurasian siskin (Spinus spinus)
- Spinus spinos (Greek) unidentified bird mentioned Aristotle and other ancient Greek. authors

These yellow birds are true nomads. They literally have no fixed nesting sites. They nest in different places, primarily in coniferous forests, and sometimes in mixed forests. However, I encounter them every spring in small numbers. Getting close to them is difficult; the birds always keep their distance.

In the fall, they begin to gather in flocks, which can be very large and noisy. In winter, in my region, they are practically nonexistent; it's too cold. However, there are times when a lone bird gets lost for some reason, and then it joins a flock of redpolls, which are their closest relatives.
