One of those days...
...as you will see in here why I said, one of those days. Nothing was a constant.

It all started well, and we thought that we would score another clear day, but sadly no-go, as the weather had other ideas. And so I could get only 4 views of that cloud line, as then it was gone. Then an amorous birdie showed up, and guess what? 3 shots and then the bird was also gone into the dense trees. Finally, the late afternoon clouds stayed around for a while, and afterwards I had to go inside as the icy air started to make my hands go numb.
Watch how that line started to fall over.
Only to be met by an army of other lines.
Robbie was trying to impress his target with a flamboyant show. The Cape-Robin-chats (Cossypha caffra) have to start nesting soon in the winter season in order for their young to be born during their breeding period which starts in July. Although our bird book tells us that they are typically found close to the ground in dense vegetation, it is not so in our case as you can clearly see Robbie out there in the open sitting on a garden wall. They are accomplished songsters and mimics.
So, come and see how flashy this guy is.
Full on flashy with that tail and fluttering his wings to impress the girl.
I think that the girl was sitting somewhere there where he could see her, but I had no idea where she was. In any case, then Robbie was gone.
The weather started to get darker as you can see in the bird pictures above, and I decided to wait for the late afternoon sun to arrive.
Even with the sunrays showing, the sky still looked very cold. But it took on a lovely cloud show, as you will see below.
Cloudy curves and bends all over the show, as the wind had fun with the clouds. It looked very fancy, as the high wind danced with the clouds, but it didn't make the day any warmer. Maybe I am just getting old, as I am starting to feel the cold more these days. But I am not complaining as nature is more important to an old fossil like me.
There was a face above the curved cloud, looking down on it. You can see the face at the top right of the picture.
What is it with the youngsters these days? Many people take a day or evening walk in the street outside our house, and there is this one youngster that wears big earmuffs and sings out loud, in the meantime they are not earmuffs as such, as my wife told me that they are earphones plugged into their phone and they sing along with the songs on the phone. Did I tell you, out loud, as if nobody else is alive in their world.
He even gets the dogs barking, but he is also deaf to any other sounds. They seem to live in a world of their own, and it reminds me of a girl that fell down an escalator because she was staring at her screen. I think phones for youngsters are bad as they cause addiction, but then again even elderly people walk through the malls with their faces in their screens. I just hope that they don't keep staring at their screens when they cross busy roads.
Such is life.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Until next time, cheers!
As we all get older, we begin to notice the beautiful moments around us more. In fact, there are so many beautiful things in nature that bring us joy and make us feel happy, yet we overlook them. Our phones block these beautiful things. Like a bird spreading its wings, trying to impress the opposite sex, as you gave an example.
Oh yes, age can really make a difference to see the finer things in life, such as the bird that was trying to impress a possible partner :)
