A bit about the mountains...

...as today there was a constant change to the views.

A very eventful day weatherwise, but we are now used to it, and I always have my camera loaded and ready to grab the shots that interest me.
Sunrises, sunsets, rain clouds driven by strong winds and even wildlife, they were all presenting themselves over the day. The nice thing about it is that one can never know what will appear next, and all that one can do is to be ready for some surprises. It is a nice game to play. And you will see in here what I mean.

Lovely shots of the mountains on show.

At least one can see his one eye, as the wind kept on whipping the branches around, and the leaves kept on interfering. If I had photoshop then I could have removed the leaves in front of the owl's face. But then that would have woken the owl, and he would have taken off. Lol.

As you can see, I am posting late as it has been a very busy day and one just has to attend the scheduled meetings. Thankfully, they are never boring as all are constructive and Papillon will also soon support an emergency shelter for the poor. An amazing story is that a guy walked from Namibia to the Cape in order to raise funding for the shelter and I cannot imagine how tough it must have been, as it is very far. A distance of approximately 1472km on foot, and by car it is approx. 18 or more hours by car. How is that for passion for a good cause?

A bit of a mix here in this shorter post, but I know that you will understand that time is not favourable for us. Life is short, and we have to live it to the full as much as we can, even with all the stresses about health, finances, responsibilities, and what not. So, care is very important to us, and it plays a big role in our lives. Finances are definitely a constraint to our efforts, but as always, we will just keep on persevering.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Until next time, cheers!

Those clouds sure are fascinating to watch near your home. You captured some great shots as always. You really do live in a gorgeous location! Nice find on the owl, I guess he was napping out the on the branch. You don't typically see them out much in the daytime. It would be interesting to see how photoshop would do removing the leaves, you would almost have to use AI to fill in the missing pieces! That could be interesting...

Impressive to hear that fellow walked so far trying to raise funds to help out. Finding money for good causes is always a challenge, especially when the economy is hurting as it is there in South Africa. You are right, we are only here for so long and do as much good as we can while we're around. It's always important to remember we are finite, and no one lives forever. It puts life in perspective.

Good luck raising those funds, and glad to see you posting late rather than missing a day!

I am a cloud junky, and I am sure that you are as well. Nope, no photoshop and no AI for me, and I know that I will get better shots of the owl. Just have to wait for a wind still day.

Yeah, especially as the guy have a heart condition, but that didn't stop him, and it just goes to show what a great passion he has for the poor people. Good causes are the first to suffer when the economy tanks, as the gates to funding are the first that are closed, and so we just have to hope that things will improve soon. I know that I will make a plan for Papillon's survival, as we have been in the same situation several times over the years.

We come into life with nothing, and we will depart with nothing.
