$50,000 for BTC by the end of the year⁉️

The CEO of BITMEX,Arthur Hayes, in his last session on CNBC stated that the world’s leading cryptocurrency will reach a valuation of $50,000 by end-of-year of which he said was his mid term target.

“In 2013 to 2015, we went for $1,200 to $200. In 2015 to 2017, (we went from) $200 To $20,000. So, we’ve done these sort of moves before,” said Hayes, noting that if BTC is capable of rising to $20,000 in a single year, a drop to $6,000 should also be expected, which myself and any other crypto enthusiast will fully concur to.
Now lets check how BTC have been moving in previous years.
In the year 2013 which was still in the early stage of BTC, we saw price rose from 94$ in July, up to about $1200 in the same year in the month of December. (1276% growth increase)
After which in the next 2years we experienced a massive decline in price from all time high in December 2013 @ $1200 to an all time low in the mid year 2015 @ $200. (83.33% price decline)
Bitcoin slowly regained momentum and started recovering, between the mid year all time low @200$ in 2013 bitcoin had about 10,000% massive growth increase to $20,000 in Dec 2017, a year of mass adoption and awareness as well as the Era of ICOs. (10,000% growth increase)
Now, we've seen bitcoin decline from the all time high in Dec 2017 @ $20,000 to a current low of about $5,800 as at the time of writing in mid year 2018.(71% Price decline)

No creo que llegue a esos límites, posiblemente su precio irá subiendo de manera progresiva, pero sin realizar esos picos como el de diciembre del año pasado.
Su valor de mercado ya se ha adecuado a un valor real, y se mantiene ahí por ser la primera criptomoneda, pero no aporta más valor del que ya se le ha dado.
Posiblemente a muy largo plazo sea una inversión parecida a un SP500 o similar.
Eso sí, con una alta volatilidad debida a hackeos, forks, regulaciones gobernamentales que alteran su precio.

I do not think that it will reach those limits, possibly its price will go up progressively, but without making those peaks like the one of December of last year.
Its market value has already been adapted to a real value, and it remains there because it is the first cryptocurrency, but it does not provide more value than what has already been given.
Possibly we will see in long term, an investment similar to an SP500.
Of course, it will have high volatility due to hacks, forks, government regulations that alter their price.
You right however price speculation of bitcoin in previous times has always been defied....
But the future will tell what happens, iny previous article i discussed about this as well and my future expectations of cryptocurrencies

personally i believe anything is possible with bitcoin if things remain the way it is, currently the value of most coins and tokens is proportional to the amount or volume being traded against bitcoin, hence for such tokens to sustain more bitcoins will need be bought or sold and thereby increasing its demand.
However i do not know how long this will last as i strongly believe in the future the value of cryptocurrency will be based on the value of the project which they serve. and that could truncate the price of bitcoins.

It is good to hear that bitcoin will touch $50000 but in reality it is very difficult at this level because currently bitcoin is bottom of graph.!!!!!

no one would have ever believed bitcoin would hit 20k last year, nothing is impossible history could repeat itself again and as well in it could even go lower, however lets see what the future holds and what santa gonna bring for us this year christmas

what to expect form the CEO of BitMEX, its His thing, however such hype are what we need to hear on the social media and live broadcasts.
However i personally think theres a possibility to his words and from history i figured out it is very possible, still no one knows what the future holds for Bitcoins as in previous times bitcoin has taken pleasure in defying speculators price expectation. I wont be surprise if we go direct opposite this time.

Your observation is good but in my opinion bitcoin will hit this year 12000 doller. In 2019 it will 22000 and in2020 it will goes at 45000 doller. Am i right?

aside the whales powering down, currently the satoshi levels of steem isnt that bad, however we need bitcoin to grow againt the usd for the dollar value of steem to grow as well
