You’re not going to believe it! 😄
I jumped up to second place on that Strava segment near home — yep, second with 35 seconds.

You may not understand the joy this achievement gives me because you might not have followed my posts.
So here’s a summary for you.
Who is Hunyaris, and a note on speed and peace
That day I said: Tomorrow first thing I’m going to try to catch the QOM on that segment. 😋 Hands up, elderly ladies on bikes — we’ve got to put up a fight while we still can.
Back in those last days of December, with my 52‑second time, I was determined to beat the Queen of the Mountain… until I saw she had done it in 33 seconds. You really have to be on a bike, climbing a a rise at full speed, to realise how quickly your pace drops if you’re not in good shape — and if you don’t use the gears wisely. The segment “Climb Carril de Boyeros a 100” is 0.3 km with a 1% gradient and 5 metres up. It looks easy on paper, but the hill bites at the end.
Wait… analysing the data again, with all my grey hairs back in place. 😁
Whaaaaat? 😱
Hunyaris climbed that hill at 33 km/h! Oh Universe, isn’t that a bit too fast? 🤣
There are other forces at play as well — the wind and the traffic… it is far from simple. 😑
Of course, the next day I almost drowned from the effort, haha… and I didn’t make it.
On 13 March I climbed to fourth place. 😅
(Sunday ChitChat) I smashed the challenge!
My final words in that post were as follows:
In life, you only need a clear idea and the courage to go for it. Nothing is impossible.
So I might set myself another little challenge on this segment…
😅
What will it be?

In this link you can see how I did, compared with the current QOM, and you can even play it back to watch both of us moving on that climb.
So yeah, the plan was to get better. And hey, maybe someday I’ll be the QOM. We’ll see!
😁

What I did today was make a delivery in that neighbourhood called Lawton. I like having these opportunities from time to time because, besides earning a bit of money, I get to discover new places. The seller called me mid‑morning, but it wasn’t until the afternoon that the client asked her to send the product — a white dress. I didn’t waste time heading out, wanting to be back before dark. The route is really fun, with its ups and downs. I recorded one on my phone to show you. When you’re climbing, you only see the road and the sky, not what lies behind — that only reveals itself at the crest of the hill.

Here I was climbing this hill and recording with my right hand and with my left on the handlebars. So, under other conditions I would have gone up better. I only wanted to show it here, as well as how much fun I have in the street, chatting with myself and with the street. They’re not pretty photos, because it was already late, the sky looked rather odd and cloudy, and at times I even felt a fine drizzle falling on me.

Something that catches my attention in that area is that from the hills you can see the domes of several churches. So I stopped to photograph one of them, and another church that happened to be right in front of me… yes, because you should know that I don’t usually come to these places, and whenever I have to make a delivery I rely on Google Maps and on the people I ask in the street. It’s also great fun because I almost always joke around and manage to get a smile out of them.

Porvenir Street.
In English, Porvenir just means the future.
Indeed, the future seems promising if I continue surpassing my own challenges. Wouldn’t you agree?

And when I got home, I grabbed the pot where I’d left some cold spaghetti, a beer from the fridge, and went with my dog to watch the last hours of the day fade away.

Cyclists are always hungry.

Today’s ride analysed by my personal trainer — Copilot — 🤣
📊 Straight read of your stats
• Distance: 15.40 km
• Moving time: 1:06:55
• Elevation: 115 m
• Avg power: 52 W
• Energy: 208 kJ
• Speed: 13.8 km/h avg · 38.9 km/h max
• Heart rate: 111 bpm avg · 155 bpm max
• Calories: 314
• Total time: 1:38:04
❤️🔥 Effort breakdown
Heart rate: super chill
An average of 111 bpm means an easy ride — classic Zone 1–2 stuff. That’s recovery and basic endurance territory, where you can chat away and your body just rolls with it.
The 155 bpm spike shows a quick hit of intensity — probably a hill or a cheeky acceleration.
Speed: steady cruise with a pop
13.8 km/h average = relaxed ride, maybe traffic, stops, mixed terrain.
38.9 km/h max = you definitely had a moment of “let’s gooo”.
Power and energy
52 W average is low — perfect for a soft spin.
208 kJ lines up with the 314 kcal, so yep, light effort.
Duration and vibe
Over an hour moving and a total of about 1 hour and 38 minutes suggests a laid-back outing, no rush at all — just moving your body, keeping that aerobic base in check, and having a good time.
🧭 What kind of training was this?
Based on your numbers and usual heart rate zones: • Main zone: Zone 1–2 (recovery + endurance) • Benefits: • Builds up your aerobic base • Active recovery • Boosts cardiovascular efficiency • No extra stress
Basically, it’s your classic endurance ride: comfy pace, steady breathing, and easy effort all the way.

| Here I don’t just share stats. I post my best workouts, training insights, and the stories behind them. |

At this point, it's only a matter of time before you get that QOM title, well done! It's great to see your effort in getting stronger and better pays off, we oldies can still kick ass! 🤩😁
Hi! A bit achy and sore, but still giving it my all on the pedals. 🤪😂
Of course I understand what you’ve achieved; just as in every aspect of life and in whatever each of us enjoys, achievements are a source of immense joy, and that’s something to celebrate! And I’m not just highlighting the achievement of coming second, I’m sure you’ll soon be first, but there’s more to it than that: bringing a smile to people’s faces, taking in beautiful views, photographing churches, exploring new places and finding happiness in the little things, like having a beer.
Congratulations!!! I know it’s taken a lot of effort and many attempts, but those with discipline and perseverance succeed! This can serve as inspiration to others, too. Big hug!!🤗

Yes, that’s true. Look, just to give you an example, I was on my way to the client’s house along Porvenir Street, and I had to overtake an ambulance twice – I don’t know why… It kept braking and stopping right in front of me. So I had to stop to ask if I was near the street where I needed to turn off, and the ambulance driver behind me honked his horn and sped past. And I said to the man I’d asked for the address: ‘This ambulance is a danger; it looks like it’s empty, yet it still wants to pick someone up.’ And the man burst out laughing.
😂
Muchas gracias Avecilla por tan bonito comentario y por el apoyo.
Big big hug or BBH 🤗 😅
That ambulance really is a danger!!!! And to top it all off, he’s laughing!!!
Thanks to you!!! Have a wonderful day!
Gracias 🙏🏻🫂.
🤗
Well done!
I've seen many records in Strava and I sometimes doubt the times of the ones that have the KOM and QOM.
Or we have some people that can challenge Tadaj Pogacar living over here 😂
But getting older, I'm not going fast enough to break my own records anymore 😂. Not even with my new bicycle. So be it...
It’s a shame that people cheat, given how exciting it is to be honest and push yourself in every challenge. Yesterday I also came fifth in a segment I was doing for the first time. I noticed when the activity was uploaded to Strava.
Beating this segment was a surprise to me too. It wasn’t that I’d set out to do it; I simply said, ‘I’ll see if I can improve my time here,’ and picked up the pace. It turns out I exceeded my own expectations without even realising it. 😄
Come on, come on, this Bianchi team can't let themselves down. 🤪😂
Good morning, @nanixxx! Congratulations on continuing to break down barriers—and kudos on your skills as a fortune teller. You predicted a better future, and it arrived fast: spaghetti and beer.
A big hug!
😂 ay no, no... Ya hoy superé la cuota de risa.
Buenas tardes 😛
Buenas tardes 😂👋
