This is one of the worst things a reboot can do. I'm so tired of that concept of passing down the torch or putting the original characters in the back in favour of less interesting, less charismatic ones. At that point why even bother with the reboot?

i'm trying to think if the passing of the torch has ever worked in anything other than those daytime soaps that old ladies and drunk housewives have been watching since forever. I don't even know the specifics of those shows because I have never watched them... but even replacing a single actor or actress normally spells disaster for a show.
