Basic Attention Token and the team behind Brave Browser are doing amazing work. Brendan Eich the CEO created JavaScript and founded FireFox.

We actually talked about this in our podcast yesterday for CryptoFizz.com. Google currently is the 2nd largest ad market with its control of search. The only larger market in the world is the USA. Google is bigger than every other country with its control..

I believe they are scared...

Decentralized is the way to go. I agree, it could be good to weave out the bad scams out there, but there are plenty of honest projects out there. However, Centralization is going to hurt Google, YouTube, FB, & others in the future in my personal opinion.

This post is completely important! :^D

Altcoins today needs a lot of POW, not only in there specific whitepaper, having a great content of there workload for their coin is a lot important than having POS that never been happen, this is one main cause why Google ban them all. great content keep up the good work!

The question i put to google and co is this: How are crypto adverts harmful and porn isn't?

There is a lot of controversy arround crypto. It´s unregulated. And they might unwillingly be promoting a scam. I guess that´s the reason why. Crypto needs to get mature. It´s still in it´s infancy.

merit based banning is the way to go for Crypto's. There are bucket loads of trash out there and it might be a good thing for average netizens who are not fully aware of the merits/demerits of cryptos while investing.

It was getting rediculous tbh.

Although i am not sure how it sits with me considering we are supposedly in a free market, but what can you do...

I’ve been using Brave for a while now. It’s a really fast, clean browser that works well. I’ve trialled their token as well but the concept is that you pay the website owner directly using crypto and that way you avoid adverts. However, hardly any sites are signed up so I’m a little confused how this will work in the short term.

Should anything be owned?

Isn't ownership just external restriction?

It's getting that so very few people have control over most of the wealth and resources, that could be put to better use if their property rights weren't given more importance than the wellbeing of the rest of us. Our ever evolving technology can provide for everyone and continuously needs less of our help to do so. While this should be freeing us, it is impovishering us, because in our system only the owners of the means of production reap the benefits of increased output with less input. The rest of us have to try to find a way to be needed by the owners. We're slaves that are constantly competing for work with the very technology we're developing to replace ourselves. It's absurd, and it doesn't have to be this way.

People panicking thinking that the ban was a bad thing. I don't see how the removal of scam ICOs and phishing links on Google is a bad thing.

No way I'm using Brave browser unless most if not all of my browser extensions are supported though.

Well like you said most of these ads are scam. When I heard it at first, I was like, why would they ban something that is most search for on google. I said to myself, Google are the loosers here. But on a second thought, it is actually a good thing. Maybe this will help reduce the incessant scamming in the crypto world.

Not all of them are scams and it makes it impossible for small groups like us to advertise our game. Sorry for shameless self plug, Chibiii.

In this bearish market a game can be great to lighten the mood :) Come check out Chibi Fighters. No levelling required.

Mmmmhh, it will be interesting to see how this develops. This new Change in Advertising Rules also affects other financial Services, not only Crypto.

I'm sure there is already a workaround in the works somewhere...
Also, it will do some good an clean out the Cryptospace a little. And those Projects that are serious and actually have something to contribute will still strive. With or without Google Ads...

Very nice article, I agree that it is a good thing, and ICOs will have to come up with more innovative ways to catch attention. Also bounties will be more valuable giving more power back to the users. Given you an upvote for your great work!

Also if anyone is looking to get some crypto without investing or mining, have a look at Crowdholding. They are a co-creation platform where you are rewarded in crypto.

Google, Facebook, and Twitter finally! I don't think this is the good decision for them. Others will take their places. The crypto community is strong enough these days. There exist a few blockchain projects which can disrupt their monopoly. As an example, Desearch search engine is very helpful when dealing with crypto and blockchain. Google, FB, Twitter just let other projects take the part of the market related to crypto.

Totally agree, hope the monopoly will be ruined. When companies have strong competitors, the overall situation becomes healthier. I like Desearch engine too, because it's nice, when the product is focused on smth
