Ecency 4.4.0: Waves, leveled up

avatar

Waves is our short-form, fast-moving way to post on Hive, and it got a lot of love in 4.4.0.

One combined feed

The biggest change: For you now brings Waves from across the network into a single timeline. No more hopping between communities to catch what is happening. It is all in one place.

See the value at a glance

Every Wave card now shows payout, vote count, and replies, and not just on For you. Following feeds and tag feeds get the same treatment, so you can tell what is resonating without opening each one.

Your mute list actually sticks

People you mute are now filtered on the server, so your feed stays the way you want it across sessions and devices.

A calmer, lighter feed

Videos no longer autoplay while you scroll, including embedded ones. That means a quieter feed and less data used on mobile.

Friendlier edges

  • Deleted or unavailable Waves now show a clear, friendly screen instead of a dead end.

  • Each Wave now carries a small source badge, so you can see where it came from at a glance.

  • We also fixed publish times on custom feeds and tag selection on Following.

Built to be resilient

We hardened the feed so that one failing community can no longer wipe out your whole For you timeline. If one source has a hiccup, the rest of your feed keeps flowing.

Waves is now faster to scan, clearer about value, and steadier than before. Jump in and post a Wave today.

Tomorrow: new ways to create. Follow @ecency to keep up.

It is working wonderfully. I may need to filter out a couple feeds that I am not interested in seeing!😁

One combined feed

What happens when you post from waves? Does it show in the other feeds as well?

That depends on those apps but we will show it.

I noticed that if I post on peakd Snaps that appears in the Waves feed, isn't that going to create double post like feed?

Opposite, people who were posting in multiple place would stop double posting but submit once

snap doesn't show all posts in single feed that's so ecency's posts don't appear in their main feed. but ecency's main feed has both waves+peakd too. that creates double post is what I meant.

Yes I understood, what you mean, cannot avoid if people share same content on two different feeds, can encourage them to share once perhaps…

Problem is your are mixing their (snap, threads etc) feeds in Wave but they don't reciprocate the same way for Wave in their feeds. That's another problem. So people will still post on other interface more as it would automatically come to wave. isn't it? that's self defeating for Waves.

Yes partially you are right. Problem is fragmentation and friction. We are marketing it accessible for Ecency users so they can interact and customize, there is mobile app changes coming out soon, will give you an idea, website also getting couple more changes

freedom #bilpcoin # The Mirage of the Mint: On the Illusion of Value in a Rigged Casino

The Dream That Is Not Yours

Stop selling a dream on Hive.

It is not a dream. It is a mirage, shimmering on the horizon of a digital desert, promising water to the thirsty while hiding the fact that the well has been poisoned by the very hands that claim to guard it. You speak of decentralization, of community, of a new economic paradigm. But beneath the glossy veneer of marketing and the hollow echo of witness proposals, there is only one reality: Hive is run by downvoting farming whales who make the rules solely to break them.

This is not governance. This is feudalism with better branding. It is a closed loop where the lords write the laws, enforce the laws, and then grant themselves immunity from the laws they have just written.

The Alchemy of Infinite Extraction

Let us speak plainly about the economics of this illusion.

Hive is a token with an unlimited supply. It is not scarce. It is not finite. It is printed daily, hour by hour, block by block, into the wallets of those who hold the keys to the kingdom. And who holds the keys?

Look at @buildawhale.

This is not a user. This is a printing press disguised as a profile. With over 2.4 million HP delegated primarily from central exchanges like @blocktrades, this account does not participate in the community; it extracts from it. It is a leviathan that swims in a sea of its own making, consuming the rewards that should belong to the creators, the artists, and the builders.

The Theater of the Burn

And how do they justify this endless extraction? Through the theater of the "burn."

You see them posting comments—empty, repetitive, algorithmic scraps of text—labeled as "burns" to create the illusion of deflation, of value preservation. It is a magic trick. They print millions of HIVE through curation rewards and self-voting, and then they burn a fraction of it in a public spectacle, hoping you will focus on the ash rather than the mountain of newly minted tokens flooding their wallets.

But look closer. Look at the ledger.

@buildawhale is self-voting these spam burn comments.
@themarkymark—an account we know to be inextricably linked to the @buildawhale scam farm—is voting these same comments.

They are clapping for their own performance. They are paying themselves to pretend they are saving the ecosystem. It is a circular economy of deceit, where the left hand burns what the right hand prints, all while the middle hand steals the reward pool from the rest of us.

The Web of Alt Accounts

And they do not do this alone.

The @buildawhale empire is not a single account; it is a hydra. It is a network of alt accounts, proxy voters, and silent partners who move in synchronized lockstep. They upvote each other’s farming operations. They downvote anyone who questions the math. They create a wall of noise to drown out the signal of truth.

They call it "curation." We call it what it is: a coordinated cartel designed to monopolize the inflation.

The Awakening of the Users

But the users are waking up.

They are seeing the unlimited supply. They are seeing the concentration of power. They are seeing the hypocrisy of whales who preach "decentralization" while holding the entire network hostage to their voting power. They are realizing that the dream being sold is a nightmare for everyone except the sellers.

And so, they are leaving. They are taking their talent, their time, and their trust to places where the rules are fair, where the supply is respected, and where the voice of the individual cannot be crushed by the weight of a whale’s wallet. They are going to Blurt.blog, where there is no downvote button, no farming cartels, and no infinite print jobs disguised as community service.

The Final Word

Stop selling the dream. The dream is dead.

What remains is a token coin with unlimited supply, controlled by a handful of actors who have turned a blockchain into a personal ATM.

The ledger sees it. The data proves it. And the users are rejecting it.

For in the end, you cannot build a future on a foundation of infinite extraction. You can only build a graveyard.

Day 23

Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished. You are part of the earth, not separate from it. Walk on the ground without shoes if you can. Remember where you come from.
The Act: Spend 20 minutes in nature. Touch a tree. Watch the water. Reconnect.

The Persistence of Shadow: A Meditation on Exposure

There is a particular audacity in continuing the performance after the curtain has fallen.

When the light has touched the object, when the mask has slipped not by accident but by the design of truth itself, what remains is not mystery, but choice. The ledger does not negotiate with denial. The blockchain does not offer the mercy of forgetting. It simply is—a mirror held up to human nature, reflecting not what we wish to be, but what we have done.

To keep lying when you have been exposed is not cleverness. It is not strategy. It is the stubbornness of a child who believes that closing their eyes makes the world disappear.

But the world does not disappear.

The truth does not retreat because you refuse to acknowledge it. It waits. It accumulates. It becomes the foundation upon which your next step must be built—whether that step is forward, into integrity, or backward, into the quicksand of self-deception.

You can keep lying.

On certain blockchain social networks, the downvote is no longer a curatorial tool. It is a financial instrument. A single click can reduce a creator's earnings by 30%, 50%, or more.

Agree with the consensus, or pay the penalty.
