Hola a todos, por aquí donde nuevo. Ando súper emocionada porque estoy estrenando nuevos hilos. Es una calidad de hilo espectacular. Muy parecido al hilo pabilo, pero más esponjoso. Tengo muchos proyectos terminados y muchos procesos por compartirles, ya saben en qué ando y las razones por las que no estoy tan activa en #hive. Me estoy dedicando exclusivamente a la recuperación de mi hijo y el acompañamiento diario, es decir, estar con él lo estimula bastante. Se aburre de estar solo conmigo, pero sé que estamos por buen camino. En nombre de Dios pronto sanará.
A pesar de estar siempre con Ale en algún momento del día me dedico a tejer, lo que antes solía tejer en cuatro horas ahora lo termino en seis días 😊 pero lo tejo con el mismo amor y la misma emoción de siempre.

I have a lot of finished projects and many works in progress to share with you all; you already know what I’ve been up to and why I haven’t been as active on #hive. I’m devoting myself entirely to my son’s recovery and supporting him every day—just being with him really lifts his spirits. He gets bored being just the two of us, but I know we’re on the right track. In God’s name, he’ll heal soon.
Even though I’m always with Ale, at some point during the day I set aside time to knit. What used to take me four hours to knit now takes me six days 😊, but I knit it with the same love and excitement as always.

Desde que estoy tejiendo con el punto X falso todos los proyectos quedan súper lindos. Ya la mano casi no me duele, aunque tejer con pabilo siempre será cansado. El hilo pabilo y este nuevo hilo que tengo son ásperos, uno más esponjoso que otro, pero ya saben que tejer con hilos de algodón no mercerizados siempre va a costar más, se pegan muchos del gancho y se hace más esfuerzo. Él hilo pabilo siempre será mi elección mientras no tenga buenas ventas, los hilos mercerizados o de otras calidades aquí en Venezuela son muy costosos.

Ever since I started knitting with the faux X stitch, all my projects have turned out super cute. My hand hardly hurts anymore, although knitting with roving will always be tiring. Pabilo yarn and this new yarn I have are rough—one is fluffier than the other—but you know that crocheting with unmercerized cotton yarns is always going to be harder; a lot of it gets caught on the hook, and it takes more effort. Pabilo yarn will always be my go-to choice as long as sales aren’t good; mercerized yarns or other high-quality yarns here in Venezuela are very expensive.

Haciendo un paréntesis 😀 me encanta que ahora pueda enviar todas las fotos al editor y que se descarguen en el mismo orden que las mandé. Antes tenía que mandar una por una porque me las descargaba desordenadas. Lo único es que las he enviado de atrás para adelante jejeje. Así que lo que están viendo es parte del proceso de elaboración de un personaje que me pidió una amiga. Es creación propia, no escribí el patrón y me encantó el resultado.

Just a quick aside 😀 I love that I can now send all the photos to the editor and have them downloaded in the same order I sent them. Before, I had to send them one by one because they’d download out of order. The only thing is, I sent them backward, hehehe. So what you’re seeing is part of the process of creating a character a friend asked me to make. It’s my own design—I didn’t write the pattern—and I loved the result.

Ahora les empiezo a comentar 🥴 desde hace más o menos dos años vengo siguiendo a tejedoras mexicanas, ellas usan un hilo de algodón muy popular allá en México, es bueno y económico. Me antojé de probarlo, pero aquí en Venezuela no hay ningún proveedor que los distribuya por lo que empecé a pedirle a mis amigos que viven allá que me consiguieran y me manden. ¿Amigos? Ninguno. Uno cree que tiene amigos, pero no cuando se trata de enviar cositas 🤭.
Se presentó la oportunidad de pedírselos a una conocida que viaja con cierta frecuencia a México. Ella me dijo que con mucho gusto me los traía y que yo con calma se los fuera cagando. ¡Yo feliz!
Mi sobrina le mostró algunos productos que le he tejido a ella y a la señora le gustó mucho mi trabajo. Resulta que me los trajo los hilos que le encargué y unos cuantos más y me dijo que no me los iba a cobrar en dinero 🤑 pero que ella quería un producto 😱

Now I’ll start telling you about it 🥴—for about two years now, I’ve been following Mexican knitters. They use a cotton yarn that’s very popular in Mexico; it’s good quality and affordable. I really wanted to try it, but here in Venezuela there aren’t any suppliers that carry it, so I started asking my friends who live there to get some for me and send it to me. Friends? None. You think you have friends, but not when it comes to sending little things 🤭.
An opportunity came up to ask an acquaintance who travels to Mexico fairly often. She told me she’d be happy to bring them back for me and that I could take my time using them up. I was thrilled!
My niece showed her some items I’d knitted for her, and the woman really liked my work. It turns out she brought me the yarn I’d asked for, plus a few extra skeins, and told me she wasn’t going to charge me any money 🤑 but that she wanted a knitted item in return 😱

¡No lo podía creer! Me emocioné y le dije que sí. Me pidió un amigurumi de un colombiano acordeonero y me envió una foto de referencia realizada por la inteligencia artificial. Siempre dudando de mi capacidad y experiencia 😔 casi le digo que no. Pero pensaba en que me iban a salir casi gratis los hilos y empecé a llenarme de valor y le dije que sí podía hacerlo.

I couldn't believe it! I got excited and said yes. He asked me for an amigurumi of a Colombian accordionist and sent me a reference photo generated by artificial intelligence. I was always doubting my ability and experience 😔 and almost told him no. But then I thought about how the yarn would be practically free, so I mustered up the courage and told him I could do it.

Lo mejor de todo es que ella me dió el tiempo que yo necesitara para tejerlo. Sin presión ni apuros.

Best of all, she gave me all the time I needed to knit it. No pressure, no rush.

Pude tenerle el amigurumis teniendo referencias de otros que a tes había tejido y adaptando el patrón a lo que necesitaba hacer. Todo iba muy bien hasta que me tocó hacer el sombrero y el acordeon. Superé lo del sombrero 🤠 pero ese acordeon me dió guerra.

I was able to make the amigurumi by using other ones I’d crocheted before as references and adapting the pattern to what I needed to do. Everything was going great until I got to the hat and the accordion. I managed to get through the hat 🤠, but that accordion gave me a hard time.

Ya me quedó el hábito de tomar fotos al proceso. Aunque crea que no haré publicaciones siempre tendré por aquí guardadas las fotos. Este amigurumis lo hice en tres días. Andaba con mucha emoción de ganarme los hilos. Yo le encargué a la señora 10 avillos de 50 gramos cada uno y ella me trajo 20 🧶 duplicó los colores.

I’ve gotten into the habit of taking photos of the process. Even if I don’t end up posting them, I’ll always have the photos saved here. I made this amigurumi in three days. I was so excited to win the yarn. I ordered 10 skeins of 50 grams each from the lady, and she brought me 20 🧶—she doubled the colors.

El hilo se llama La Abuelita, es producción mexicana. Muy suave y esponjoso. De puro algodón. Es un poco áspero al tenerlo, pero les digo que el acabado me encanta. Él amigurumis se siente durito y suave al mismo tiempo. Con el pabilo el acabado es similar, pero menos suave.

The yarn is called Abuelita; it's made in Mexico. It's very soft and fluffy. It's 100% cotton. It feels a little rough to the touch, but I have to say I love the finished look. The amigurumi feels firm yet soft at the same time. The Pabilo yarn has a similar finish, but it's less soft.

Tengo muy pocos colores 🌈 y con ellos buscaré tejer 🧶 amigurumis que me encantan. Estoy muy contenta de haber vivido esta experiencia de tejer con un hilo diferente al pabilo. I have very few colors 🌈, and with them I’ll try to crochet 🧶 the amigurumis that I love so much. I’m really happy to have had this experience of crocheting with a yarn other than Pabilo.
