Déjà vu had always been a part of my life, something I was born with, although I called it something else because I had no idea what it was. It was simply that whenever something happened in everyday life, I felt I had experienced it before, as if it were very close to me.

It had always been like that in my life, with no memory of exactly when it began, but the memory became vivid when, at the age of 23, I saw a clear image of another moment, one I had no recollection of. I didn’t know what was happening or what that image represented; I only knew that I saw a grave there and, standing in front of it, a woman whom I didn’t recognise until the day I experienced it.

A woman in a special raincoat, on a cloudy day, in a cemetery. There were no faces to identify, nor any further details to uncover. I simply stood there whilst washing the dishes, without moving, until the image faded away like mist dissipating, without knowing where it was going. A grave… with just a wreath of flowers… that image will never fade from my mind.

Three months passed; we were in hospital. My grandmother was having seizures that contorted her face and made her body shake. They gave her six months to live, six months with no appeal, with nothing we could do but offer her a little relief, six months of losing mobility on the left side of her body, sight in the eye on the same side, and so her body was confined to a wheelchair. In just one day, the world came crashing down, and I still remember my endless weeping.

It was something the family hadn’t expected, but I remembered that image and told my mother about it amidst deep sobs, hating what I had seen as if I had caused it. She looked at me as if she knew this would happen; someone, when I was very young, had told her that this would happen to me.

I knew that grave; my great-grandparents were buried there, and I had always visited it since I was a child, and now… I had seen it with just a wreath on top, a woman whose face was hidden, on a cloudy, dark day. I wanted to believe that the two things were unrelated, but I couldn’t shake that sense of unease.

Days and months passed, and two more visions concerning my grandmother appeared, and both came true whilst she was still alive, though I always hoped for a miracle and that the first one would not come to pass.

A month before the appointed date, my grandmother fell into a coma at my house; I knew it would happen, for that vision had already been revealed. I knew they were visions and that they wouldn’t go away. I cried so much because I hated these omens that were now part of my life. I rejected it, I denied it, but there was nothing I could do. It was as if this had been decreed for my life for some special reason, a reason that would bring me great pain, but if that was the case, I knew I could handle it.

It was a grey day, drizzling on and off, and my mother had bought a raincoat a few months earlier, one she was wearing that day; I could see her from behind. Only one wreath lay on her grave, just one, ours, from her close family… just one on that cold grave where her parents had long since been resting. She had always wanted to be with them. My grandmother’s name was Esther, and it all began with the visions at her grave; the start of my ministry had to be in a cemetery.

This is incredibly deep and thought-provoking Cemeteries always have this powerful silent energy that reminds us of the temporary nature of life, and your photos capture that atmosphere perfectly The architecture combined with the greenery looks beautiful yet carries a profound melancholy You are so right. there are certain sights and realizations that hit you so hard that nothing ever feels the same again. Thank you for sharing such a reflective and impactful post wonderful photography 🕊️🏛️✨

Hello, dear friend @avdesing.

It can't be easy for you to have these déjà vu experiences, especially when the premonitions are like this. No one should have to go through what you went through. I'm so sorry.

Sending a big hug to the whole family.

Supongo que hoy ha ido todo bien.

Un abrazo muy grande.

Good afternoon @avdesing, I understand perfectly from reading your story how difficult it must have been to accept déjà vu as part of your journey. The vision you describe, combined with your grandmother's last moments in this world, is recounted with great emotion. Thank you so much for sharing such a personal experience.

I imagine everything went well today.

Big hug.

Debemos esperar a nueva cita....😌

Gracias!
