Community Curation, Creator Subscriptions and Quests
As I mentioned in the last post, there's quite a lot of updates. Today I finished fine-tuning some more of them and launched some while Creator Subscriptions still needs some more work. I'll be going over the new additions in greater detail and also talk about Creator Subscriptions a bit more so you know what's to come.
First let's start with an easy one:
Quests
There's now Quests on scrobble.life, you can access yours here: https://scrobble.life/quests
Starting off with daily and weekly quests while leaving monthly towards Subscriber activities.
As you can tell by the screenshot, different activities on scrobble.life count towards your quests, such as:
Scrobbling songs/videos. Creating snaps/comments through the website. Publishing posts. Reading posts. Upvoting posts and more to come later.
There's also a level up system with xp for every "task" as well as additional xp for keeping up the streaks.
Levels and other accomplishments will be gamified more in the future to add towards your achievements while also showing your level across the website.
Creator Subscriptions
In Collaboration with decentmemes, we will soon enable users to upload emotes, stickers as well as collectibles on decentmemes while they'll be usable on scrobble.life (and any front-end that wants to implement them).
These will be guarded behind some activities however to prevent abuse, a combination of quests and other hive activities such as reputation of your account.
This means that every creator will be able to create a certain amount of unique emotes and stickers their subscribers will be able to use throughout the site (as well as other hive front-ends if they decide to implement this system).
Subscriptions will be tier-based, starting with $2/$5/$20 (a % gets burned while the rest goes to creators - the platform takes no fee), creators have all the power in their own hands how they wanna distribute emotes and stickers. We may enable original private meme templates only subscribers can use as well with this feature.
To give you a practical idea, let's say @holozing creates their own emotes, stickers and social collectibles. If you subscribe to @holozing for $2/month you may be able to use 5/20 of their emojis, stickers and unique meme templates when leaving comments on Hive.
When subscribing you also have the chance to receive unique collectibles bound to your account. A little bit of a gacha system there while limiting it to only 1 collectible per month to prevent unhealthy gambling mentalities. The collectibles will have different rarity system you as the creator can decide on yourself, example: if I subscribe to Holozing I'll be able to receive a creature collectible but to get a very rare one will be purely luck-based. Subscribing more times during the same month won't get me more collectibles, I'll have to wait until the second month of my subscription. If you're feeling generous however, you are able to gift subscriptions to others and we have a system where we target users the creator has engaged and upvoted to direct the subscriptions to, and similarly they'll also only receive one collectible per subscription.
On your profile you'll be able to select which collectible you wanna use when posting/commenting on Hive, it'll show close to your username and profile picture as well as unique pfp border if you've subscribed to scrobble.life. Default settings will allow you to show your collectible of the author you're subscribed to when commenting on their posts!
We hope this gamifying excites some of you as we feel it has been missing on Hive for the longest time! Creators can in this day and age easily create collectibles/emotes/stickers using AI or if they want to make it perfect, hire artists (we have many on Hive) to create things for them. This gives creators the freedom to "franchise" their account and stylize it a bit more.
To make things even easier, we've created a simple card collection generator you'll be able to use for a low fee
Introducing: Holo Card Generator
On Holo Card Generator you'll be able to add a custom card you've created (or a border and card separately) and give it different holo effects to make it unique and pretty! Here's some examples using a @holozing card:
As you can tell, Creator Subscriptions are packed with features so this thing is going to take a while longer until it is finished, but we're excited to see what our creators come up with and how they'll utilize them!
Lastly:
Community Curation
This is a big addition we've worked hard to finalize lately. We're opening up curation nominations to the wider community!
Now naturally, we are still going to keep things strict as to what we decide to curate, however this gives others a chance to participate and maybe become an amazing curator!

Make sure you read the rules and restrictions.
We don't wanna take away power from incubated communities thus you won't be able to nominate posts from curation that are posted into communities already working with OCD, but anything else is fair game!
When a nomination goes through it lands in our queue, there it'll be checked by experienced OCD curators to make sure everything is up to par with our restrictions and no-curation lists. Once accepted, our curators will vote on the post and the author you nominated will receive a memo notification letting them know who nominated them for an OCD upvote! We hope this helps bring the community closer as well as improve how some creators use the blockchain in an effort to receive our curation if they currently do not.
Keep in mind our focus still remains on underrewarded/overlooked authors, so if you're not receiving curation from us, unless you're on a no-curation list, it most likely means you're already doing great!
Users can nominate up to 2 posts per day and based on your accepted/denied nomination performance you'll be landing in our community curation leaderboard which may enable you to be able to nominate more posts in the future as well as other perks!
Community curators also have some rewards coming their way through our new automated compilation post creator where we maintain transparency as to who nominated who and send 100% of the rewards to users involved, from community curators to OCD curators accepting the nominations for upvotes.
Self-nominations are also available but they come at a small cost. You'll have to burn 1 Hive to nominate your own post, if you think your post has got what it takes, you'll easily make the rewards back if you're selected, however to prevent spam we decided this as well as the curator leaderboard will eventually lock you out if you're constantly nominating undesirable posts. Thus make sure you read the rules in https://scrobble.life/curation so you don't get locked out because you didn't know any better. There's certain genre's we won't accept for curation as well as the incubated community list. Most of the time you should get warnings by our system before burning any hive/submitting the nomination.
This system is quite experimental, we hope the community keeps that in mind and won't get disappointed/angry if things aren't off to a great start. Burn costs as well as other parameters are subject to change if we believe it improves the system.

The excitement is building up some momentum, really loving it. These updates look fantastic. Quests and community curation should make engagement much more rewarding, and Creator Subscriptions have a lot of potential to give Hive creators new ways to build stronger communities.
